Prints for Progress founded 2007 Prints for Progress is a community based youth arts program funded by charitable contributions, fundraisers, grants and class dues. Designed to generate support for the arts, Prints for Progress provides art-making workshops to community youth in order to encourage dialogue of social issues through artistic expression. Through the use of different disciplines of art, such as painting, drawing and printmaking, youth gain both technical skills and the ability to discuss, analyze and reflect on issues facing them. Youth participants are provided with hands on application of advanced techniques in order to express their individual creativity. Prints for Progress aims to instruct people of all cultures, class, race, sex and ability by providing a diverse environment in order to foster cathartic self expression and discovery through the arts. The objective is to simply share our knowledge, volunteer our spare time, and provide a learning environment with the intention to steer our community in a positive direction. Past workshops have included classes in screen printing and relief printmaking, mural painting, mask making, and posters. Prints for Progress believes strongly in community partnerships and we have collaborated with many different community organizations in celebrating cultural, political and social events. We serve the community; we celebrate the arts!
